RELEASE: Albertsons Boise Open presented by Kraft Provides Record Number for Charity
Tournament Provides Over $1 Million To Charity Again This Year
(Boise, ID . – September 18, 2011) – With the culmination of the Albertsons Boise Open presented by Kraft today, Executive Director Jeff Sanders is happy to announce that once again this year, the tournament will provide over one million dollars in charitable contributions. The total amount that will go to charity this year is $1,076,000.
Mike Clawson, President of Albertsons Intermountain West Division said, “In this economy, we are thrilled to be able to provide over one million dollars to charity once again. Thank you to all in the Boise community for making it possible – and to Sara Lee and all of the local charities for their hard work in selling tournament tickets as part of the TICKETS Fore CHARITY program. This year’s TICKETS Fore CHARITY program generated over $725,000 for Boise charities. Our vendor partners, local sponsors, media partners, loyal volunteers and golf fans all played key roles in delivering this phenomenal result for charity, and we are grateful to all of them.”
The $1,076,000 provided this year brings the Albertsons Boise Open presented by Kraft to nearly
13 million dollars in charitable contributions in its 22-year history. This ranks the Albertsons Boise Open presented by Kraft number one on the Nationwide Tour in charitable contributions.
The charity announcement was made alongside the crowning of this year’s champion on the 18th green at Hillcrest Country Club Sunday afternoon. The winner of this year’s tournament was rookie Jason Kokrak, who finished with a score of 18-under par, and won $130,500. This win vaulted Kokrak to number 13 on the money list and all but guaranteed him a spot on the PGA TOUR for 2012.
